Being able to have Michelin star food in the comfort of your own home is amazing. “Well, consider this the 126th 5-star review. Chef Francis and his staff prepared an incredible 5-course meal plus appetizers (AND two cocktails) for us and 7 of our closest friends who were visiting from out of town. Some of our friends were staying in an AirBnb since they had children and Chef Francis and his team had no problem setting up shop in the (actually decently sized) kitchen. They brought EVERYTHING and did EVERYTHING. I think they left the Airbnb kitchen cleaner than when the two 2-year olds had wreaked havoc hours before.The FOOD was outstanding. We loved and appreciated Chef Francis and his staff’s interaction with us. We loved learning about where many of the dishes came from. We had a French-American inspired dinner. The asparagus and caviar was incredible. And the lobster course lives rent free in my brain. There was more, but you might have stopped reading already, so I’ll leave you with this...they left us with some extra ice cream and just today I found my husband with the pint container in front of him with a spoon while finishing his work day. Yes, Vendador is THAT good.”

“I recently gifted my husband a surprise dinner for two with Vendador, and it was truly a unique and AMAZING experience.Chef Francis outdid himself with every dish, combining flavors I would have never thought of in a million years, but aside from the amazing food, to me the best thing was that he took the time to engage with us, chatting with my husband to give him cooking tips, which added a very personal touch to the evening. “Chef Francis and team did again! This is the second dinner party they have helped me host at my home, this one on the smaller side for a group of 7 women. As the hostess, I didn’t have to lift a finger. The cocktails were amazing and the passed appetizers a great way to start our night. Chef asked during our first meeting if we had anything special that we did as a group. The first thing I thought was that we love to belt out 80’s and 90’s female singers when we all get together. They took that and ran with it! Our menu’s were custom Celine Dion CD cases. It was a nice surprise! The process is east. The food is delish. The decor beautiful. “Wow. Just wow. Francis and Vendador Chicago truly are a hidden gem amongst the robust dining scene that is Chicago.We were fortunate enough to experience Francis’ in-home private dining experience, and I cannot stop raving about it. From our first interaction, I could feel Francis’ energy and enthusiasm for food, which directly translated to the experience itself! He was highly accommodating, even through many date and menu changes. And this is all before we even took a bite of his food (which, if this was any indication, was going to be next level!)!Just a little background to help paint the picture, we shared this experience with another couple, and throughout the meal, Francis did a great job with just letting us catch up with each other, while also interacting with us. He orchestrated the service like a true professional, which we all appreciated. Now onto the actual food itself. The salmon crudo with citrus?! I still dream of this dish. It was so fresh, and perfectly balanced in every way possible. The fresh, homemade pasta carbonara with uni cream sauce can be described in one word - decadent! He even topped it with fresh shaved truffle (drooooollll). The roasted baby carrots. Wow, I never knew a carrot could taste this amazing. I could go on and on, but in summary, all 6 courses he made for us were on par, if not better, than other fine dining establishments. Also, I must make note of one perk of having this experience at home (besides being able to change into sweatpants immediately after eating all of this yumminess) - we get to keep all of the leftovers! He had made us an entire tiramasu cake, but we only got thru half of it that evening. What’s better than cake for dessert?! Cake for dessert two nights in a row!To say that he knocked this experience out of the park is an understatement! I know everyone’s post-pandemic calendars are filling up, but if you have any free moments, you must give him a try before he blows up (which I can just feel is coming soon!)!”

“A PERFECT TEA PARTY!Start to finish, the tea party exceeded my expectations. I wanted to set the bar high and leave guests with a memorable experience, and thanks to Chef Francis Pascal and the Vendador team, we did! They are the best! It was a wonderful experience working with them and seeing Chef Francis and his team in action.The guests absolutely loved the square table arrangement, black tablecloths, and gold and black plates, which set off the black and white art on the gallery walls. The space was tight, but the Vendador team got the square arrangement to work, and it was perfect aesthetically, and worked well for guest visibility and conversations.The food (taste and colors,) presentation, and service were all beyond fabulous! The menu of finger sandwiches, veggie roll, mini savory tarts, watercress soup and more was on point. Appreciated the vegan options too. The custom cocktail, scones, and desserts were delish!Providing guests with individual tea strainers, loose tea, and serving hot water from teapots were small details that everyone enjoyed. Guests raved about how fabulous everything was and said the Sunday afternoon tea party was a fantastic idea and experience. So many functions are cocktail parties or dinners; but, apparently, everyone also loves a good tea party! It’s the talk about town.The Vendador staff was beyond marvelous! Friendly, engaging, professional, knowledgeable, courteous, efficient, and just topnotch overall. There were no details with service that were overlooked. The Vendador team is a Dream Team!The rental company delivery and staff were also great. All went off without a hitch. Thanks for organizing. “Francis created a truly wonderful, private dining experience for my family, making my Mom’s 65th birthday an unforgettable night. Prior to the event, Francis was very accommodating to our tastes, requests, and dietary requirements. He provided multiple cuisine styles and menu samples to choose from and we settled on an American-inspired four-course menu. He arrived with his cooking companion on time and was polite, friendly and interactive. I even got a fried chicken cooking lesson. The food was unique, creative, elegant, and delicious. And plentiful. Francis even brought along some black truffles and a foie gras mousse that was not even planned to incorporate into the menu. As someone who loves to cook, I learned a great deal throughout the night from talking to Francis. Overall, it was truly one of the most memorable dining experiences of my life. We hosted a kitchen counter dinner for 9, and it was truly a unique and beautiful experience. Chef was able to curate the perfect plant forward menu, that even the meat eaters couldn’t stop raving about. All his ingredients were hand selected, seasonal, and locally sourced, and you could taste the freshness in his food. We loved being front and center, seeing the artistic presentation and the detail that went into each dish first hand. Our sommelier was so knowledgeable and was able to perfectly pair wine or whiskey with each course, and provided such beautiful insight into every tasting she provided. We requested buttermilk fried chicken as our main course; mouth-watering, juicy with perfectly crisp skin. Dessert was sponge cake with berries and ice cream; a perfect finish to a perfect experience. I would highly recommend Vendador and plan to have them prepare another dinner for us in the near future. “My experience with Vendador was truly five stars. I asked them to do a private dinner for my husband and I’s first anniversary and they delivered! Both Chef Francis and Zaida were very professional, but so personable at the same time. We had a great time chatting with them while they were setting the table and prepping the food. Their process is seamless. They bring all of their own equipment-- pots, pans, plates, silverware, wine glasses etc. and leave everything spotless after they are finished. The food was true fine dining restaurant quality and absolutely fantastic. The tuna tartar and tortelli dishes were standouts for us. Chef Francis even did a special rendition of our strawberry mousse wedding cake for dessert. Zaida’s wine pairings went perfectly with each dish and were the cherry on top of a wonderful dinner. And his pastry chef did chocolates and candies as a special treat. What a night. The spotless kitchen afterwards was the icing on the proverbial cake. Our guests raved about the party. I can’t recommend Chef Francis and his team more highly. One other note - they seemed to be having fun too. Working their tails off, of course, but in great spirits and really enjoying the night.
